John Chapter 3

There was a Jewish man named Nicodemus who is a member of the Pharisees. Nicodemus said clearly to Jesus, saying, “Teacher, You are the one that is the true God. No one could work out a lot of miracles unless God was with him.” Jesus said clearly to Nicodemus, “The truth is this: no one can see the kingdom of heaven without no one being born again into the world.” Nicodemus replied, “How can someone be born again? A person cannot go into his mother’s womb again.” Jesus replied, “I’m speaking the truth to you. Nobody can go into the kingdom without being born of water and the Holy Spirit. Every person is born with parents of its own, but is also being filled spiritually in the Spirit. I tell you these things so you can be born again. The wind will blow wherever it desires; you can’t tell where the wind is coming from or where it’s going off to, so it is with everyone that is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus replied, “How is that possible?” Jesus declared, “You teach a lot to people in Israel, and yet you still do not know? Truthfully, we talk about what we clearly know and give you the details of what we’ve not seen, yet none of the people will believe in My telling. You still can’t trust Me when I tell you about other worldly things; how can you recognize Me, then, when I describe focusing on heavenly things above? No one can go to heaven except the Son of God who descended from heaven.”

As Moses carefully held up the snake made out of bronze in the desert, the Son of Man was lifted up also, so that everyone who trusts Christ will be with Him forever. God sent His Son into the world so that all people will believe in Christ’s Word will live forever. For God didn’t send His Son to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. The people who trust in Christ will not be looked at, but others who don’t trust in Christ have already been looked at, because they didn’t respect Jesus’ only Son. This is how the judgment came to be: the light shone into the world, but other people liked the darkness more than the light because they had bad deeds. The people who do evil things will not like light rather than going to it, because they don't want to see them being near. But the people who accept and do good deeds will come to the light and be faithful to God’s will.

After the people believed in Jesus, Jesus and His disciples went to Judea, where each of His disciples were baptized. John was in Aenon doing the same thing, because a lot of water was there in that place. All people were coming to John and getting baptized also. Some of John’s followers were talking to a Jew about the importance of washing properly. So John’s disciples came up to John and asked, “Teacher, do you recall the man who came with you to the east side of the Jordan River and spoke to you? He is now receiving a baptism, and everyone is now coming to him!” John replied, “Nobody shall have anything they want unless God declares it. You all alone are my witnesses. The bridegroom is with the bride, but the bridegroom’s friend who’s with them to listen will be very happy to hear the bridegroom’s voice. This will be my own happiness that will be made anew. The bridegroom will become important while I will be less important.”

God who comes from heaven is greater than all things. He who is from earth stays on earth and talks about the deeds that are on earth, but God is above all things. Whoever accepts God’s message knows His truth. The one whom God has taken speaks the Word of God, because God receives His Holy Spirit from him. The Father puts everything in the Son’s power and might. Some people who trust in Christ will receive eternal life; others who disrespect the Son will be punished.
