Abram went up into Egypt, and Lot was in the South. He was rich in livestock, silver, and gold. He camped in all the places as he went from the Negeb to Bethel until he arrived at the tent where he had built the altar. Abram called on the name of God. Lot also owned, sheep, cattle, and tents. Their goods were so many that they couldn’t reside together. A fight broke out between Abram’s and Lot’s livestock. Abram said to Lot to separate from him, which is going to the right or left. Lot raised his eyes and saw that the district of the Jordan was a well-watered region, and moved his camp to the east side.
Abram moved to Canaan, but Lot lived among the district’s cities. He set up his tent near Sodom. Now Sodom’s men were bad sinners against God. God said to Abram to raise his eyes and look to the place where he is, all the land that he sees, the Lord will give it to him as an everlasting treasure like the earth’s particles of dust and to get up. Abram lived in tents continuously and dwelt in Mamre’s big trees.
