Genesis Chapter 39 Bible Study

The Ishmaelites took Joseph to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, the palace guard captain. The Lord was with Joseph and made him successful. Since Potiphar was well pleased with Joseph, he became a personal servant and was in charge of everything Potiphar had. The Lord blessed the Potiphar’s household and everything because of Joseph. 

Joseph was well-built and good looking. After a while, his master’s wife desired Joseph and asked him to go to bed with her, but he refused because he couldn’t betray his master whom he trusted a lot and to sin against God. One day, when Joseph was working in the house, none of his house servants were there. She tempted Joseph one more time, but he fled and ran outside with his robe in her hand. She lied to Joseph’s house servants and master that Joseph attempted to rape her and left his robe because she was screaming. Joseph’s master was furious and Joseph was arrested in the king’s prison. The Lord was with Joseph and blessed him, so the jailer was pleased with him and made him responsible for everything that was done there. Joseph succeeded in everything he did.
