Genesis Chapter 23 Bible Study

Sarah died in the land of Canaan at 127 years old and Abraham mourned her death. Abraham asked the Hittites to sell some land to bury his wife because he is a foreigner. The Hittites said, “You are a mighty leader, so we are glad to give you a grave for your wife.” Then Abraham bowed before them and asked Ephron to sell Machpelah Cave for its full price. Ephron answered in the hearing of everyone, “Listen, I will give you the field with the cave.” Abraham bowed to Ephron and agreed to pay 400 pieces of silver as he asked. So the property became Abraham’s and he buried Sarah in the cave.
