Bezalel made a 7.5x7.5x4.5 cubic ft altar out of acacia wood for burning offerings with the projections on top of the four corners so that they formed one piece. He also made all the equipment for the altar: their pans, shovels, bowls and hooks with their firepans. He designed a bronze grating and put it near the altar’s rim and made four carrying rings near the corners, carrying poles of acacia wood with bronze with its four rings near each of the sides of the altar. The altar had hollow boards. He made the basin with bronze that belonged to the mirrors who were serving at The Tent of the Lord’s entrance in His presence.
For the Tent of the Lord’s presence, Bezalel worked on the enclosure that was made of fine linen curtains. For the north and south sides, the 50 yards long curtains with 20 bronze posts and its bases and silver hooks and rods. On the west side, 25 yards long curtains with 10 bronze posts and its bases and silver hooks and rods. On the east side where the entrance was facing, the enclosure was 25 yards wide. Each side of the entrance had 7.5 yards of curtains with their three posts and bases. The posts’ bases were made of bronze, and the hooks, rods, and the posts’ tops’ covering were all made of silver. All the enclosure’s posts were joined with silver rods. All the Tent’s pegs with their enclosure were made of bronze.
The metal list was ordered by the Levites under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest. Bezalel made everything that the Lord had commanded Moses, while his helper Oholiab was an engraver. All the sacred gold was 2,195 pounds. 7,550 pounds of silver was used; 7,500 for bases and 50 for rods. This was equal to the total amount of all people in the census that was paid according to the official standard. There were 603,550 men 20 years old or older enrolled in the census. 5,310 pounds of bronze was dedicated. With that, Bezalel made all he needed for the Tent of the Lord’s presence.
