Exodus Chapter 38 Bible Study

He made an altar out of acacia wood for burnt offerings out of square size. It was seven and a half feet in length and width and four and a half feet high. He made corner projections near the top of the altar at its four corners all in one piece near the altar with bronze. He made all the utensils for the altar; their pans, shovels, bowls and hooks with their firepans. He designed a bronze grating and put it near the altar’s rim. He also designed four carrying rings near the corners, carrying poles of acacia wood with bronze with its four rings near each of the sides of the altar. The altar had hollow boards. He made the basin with bronze that belonged to the mirrors who were serving at The Tent of the Lord’s entrance in His presence.

He designed the fine linen curtains’ enclosure that was 50 yards long on the south and north sides with their 20 bronze posts in their bronze bases made of silver hooks and rods. The east side was 25 yards wide also. On each side of the entrance there were 7 and a half yards of curtains with their three posts and bases and of fine woven linen. The bases were made of bronze with their silver hooks and rods. All the Tent’s pegs with their enclosure was made of bronze.

The metal list was ordered by the Levites under the direction of Ithamar. Bezalel made everything that the Lord had commanded Moses, while Aholiab was an engraver. All the sacred gold was 2,195 pounds. Silver was 7,550 pounds. This was equal to the total amount of all people in the census that was paid according to the original standard. 603,550 men were 20 years old and above. 75 pounds of each base were made for the curtains. Bezalel made the silver rods, the hooks for the posts and the coverings for their tops. The bronze weighed 5,310 pounds. He made all the equipment completed for the Tent of the Lord’s presence.
