Exodus Chapter 35 Bible Study

Moses gathered the whole community of Israel and said to them: “This is the Lord’s commandment: Work for six days, but no work on the seventh day. It is a Sabbath day,  a solemn day of rest dedicated to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath shall be put to death. Everyone who wishes to offer to the Lord, bring gold, silver and bronze; fine linen; blue, purple and red wool; cloth made of goats’ hair; ram’s skins dyed red; fine leather; acacia wood; oil for the lamp, and spices for the anointing oil and sweet incense; carnelians and other jewels to be in the High Priest’s ephod and breastplate. All skilled workers that are among you shall make everything that the Lord has commanded: the Tent, the Covenant Box, the table, the lampstand, the altar, the curtains for the enclosure and the magnificent garments for Aaron the priest and his sons in the Holy Place.

All Israel’s people had left, and everyone who wished to do so brought everything needed to use in worship and for making priestly garments. All who wanted to, both men and women, brought their offering to the Lord such as gold jewelry, fine linen, fine leather, silver or bronze, acacia wood and fine linen thread made of goats’ hair. The leaders brought carnelians and other jewels for the ephod and breastpiece, spices and oil for the lamps, anointing oil and sweet-smelling incense. Moses said to the Israelites, “The Lord has chosen Bezalel, son of Uri and Hur’s grandson from the tribe of Judah. God had given him skill, ability and understanding for every kind of artistic work. The Lord has also chosen Oholiab, son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan, to teach their crafts to others.”
