Exodus Chapter 30 Bible Study

“Make an altar out of acacia wood for burning incense. Put the altar outside of the curtain and in front of the Covenant Box. That is the place where I will meet you. Aaron is to burn sweet-smelling incense on the lamp every morning and night. Only this incense offering will continue for all time to come. Once a year, Aaron will perform the ritual by purifying the altar with the animal’s sacrifice for sin. This ritual is to be done every year for all time to come, and the altar shall be completely dedicated and holy to the Lord.”

The Lord said to Moses, “When you count the number of the people of Israel in the census, collect money from each man and spend it for the upkeep of the Tent in My presence. This tax will be the payment for your lives, and I will remember to protect them. Make a bronze basin and place it between the Tent and altar to put water in it. Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and feet before they go to the Tent or altar for the food offering. Then they will not be killed.” The Lord said to Moses, “To make the anointing oil, take the finest spices and add one gallon of olive oil and mix it like perfume. Use it to anoint the Tent of My presence, the Covenant Box and all the equipment. If you dedicate these things in this way, they will be completely holy. Then anoint Aaron and his sons, and ordain them as priests in My service. This holy anointing oil is to be used in My service for all time to come.” “To make the incense, take the sweet spices and mix it like perfume with added salt to keep it pure and holy. Sprinkle the fine powder into the Covenant Box.”
